2025: the exploration year

Before Slapp there was a year of trying things. Vestra's GitHub organisation holds 58 repositories from 2025. Paired into frontends, backends, widgets and templates, they come to 28 distinct ideas. Two more lived on a personal account. All 30 are listed here in the order they were started. Most were killed. Two fed directly into Slapp, two are paused, and one became a delivered client project.

30 entries, 25 killed, 2 merged into Slapp, 2 paused, 1 delivered to a client.

What the year taught

Most of these were built by one of us in a few days, deployed, and left. The two that got weeks rather than days, Vestra Portal and Sportacon, were the ones we built together. Sportacon gave Slapp its shape: the same monorepo layout and Convex backend, profiles, messaging and a paid tier. Slapp's first commit came three weeks after Sportacon's last one.

The electronic ID sign-in that Slapp is built on was first wired up in July, as a side branch of Dulvit that never merged. The tooling survived too. The Next.js, Expo and Convex templates from that summer are still what new projects start from.
